How To Disable Memorized Password Function or Auto-Complete

If your login information automatically appears on websites where you need to login to gain access to information, we recommend that you disable the "auto complete" function within your web browser.

In Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher

  1. Select "Tools" from the menu bar
  2. Select "Internet Options" and then "Content" tab
  3. Select "Auto complete" and remove the checkmarks from the "User names and passwords" section
  4. Select "Clear forms" and then "Clear passwords"

In Firefox 1.5

  1. Select "Tools" from the menu bar
  2. Select "Options" and then "Privacy" tab
  3. Select the "Saved Forms" tab, and remove checkmarks from the "Save information I enter in forms and the Search Bar" option
  4. Click "Clear Saved Form Data Now" button to clear currently saved information
  5. Select the "Passwords" tab, and remove checkmarks from the "Remember Passwords" option
  6. Click "View Saved Passwords" button then click on "Remove All" button to remove all currently saved passwords

In AOL 5 or 6

  1. Go to "My AOL"(v.5) or "Settings" (v.6) depending on the version of AOL that you are using
  2. Select "Preferences"
  3. Click on "WWW" to open the window similar to Internet Explorer 5.
  4. Go to the "content" tab and click on "Clear passwords" to clean out the preset passwords
